Develop the Key Skills & Techniques Needed to Build Personal Impact, Influence & Effectiveness in Dealings with Others

This is a 2-Day course for every person who believes in reaching the sky.

The workshop facilitates the development of personal mastery competence to enable individuals to manage their lives and work with efficiency and efficacy. The workshop focuses on self-knowledge and self-mastery while at the same time strike a balance between work and personal responsibilities.

Lecture, group participation, discussion, games, video showing and personality profiling.

 

The workshop will be divided into 4 segments:

1   Personal Effectiveness

2   Group Effectiveness (Team Building)

3   Effective Communication

4   Stress Management

WORKSHOP DETAILS

Segment 1: Personal Effectiveness

This segment is designed to help participants to be proactive, responsible and empowered. Every participant will benefit from this training by learning how to live a happy and contented life while achieving personal and professional goals. Companies or organizations will benefit by having motivated, focused, confident employees who know how to bring added value to their work.

Take Control of Your Life

  1. Who are you?   Find out something about yourself. What sort of person are you? Are you a mouse or a tiger? Learning about yourself will help you achieve the thing you want in life.

  2. Do you have a dream or goal? What are your aspirations or ambitions? Do you make resolution every year?

  3. Do you accept change? Are you comfortable with the current level of life? Do you want to move over to the next level?

  4. How do you motivate yourself to achieve higher goals or get something you wanted? How to fight fear and kick fear out of your life? Improve your self-esteem and self-belief.

The Training

This part will cover Motivation, Self Esteem, Goal Setting, Manage Change and Building Confidence. Participant will do a personality profiling. A video will be shown to motivate participants.

Segment 2: Group Effectiveness - Team Building

This segment will focus on team spirit. Work and departmental teams are the building blocks of an organization. For a team to be an effective resource in an organization, it has to work closely and collaborate with management to achieve incremental and targeted results.

Building Successful Teams

  1. What makes a team effective?

  2. Understand the 4 stages of team development.

  3. Lessons from the classic study of how geese fly in formation and how they overcome their flight problems. Use this scenario to reflect on our daily lives and works.

  4. Apply team exercise and games to illustrate the importance of team spirit.  

The Training

The activity will cover experiential learning through teambuilding process. How to improve interpersonal relationships within the group, resolve conflicts and build personal and group commitment to achieve key strategic results. The participants will learn to accept change and embrace openness. Ultimately, every participant will learn to trust one another for the benefit of a team.

Segment 3: Effective Communication

Communication is an important skill for all. Now, it is more relevant for everyone – worker or manager to be able to communicate to one or many. Listening is also part of oral communication.  Without understanding others, you cannot communicate effectively to them.

This segment will focus on listening and speaking. Though it is easy to listen (as an audience) than speaking in front of an audience. However, this is an important skill for someone who desires to be a leader. Success on the job is often linked to a good communication skill.

A Good Communicator Can Open the Door

  1. Speakers are not born. This is one skill that can be learned. Not many can be extraordinary speakers but many can be good speakers.

  2. A good communicator is a better thinker, better listener and better speaker.

  3. Communication is about getting the message across and avoids misunderstanding

  4. A speaker must be able to speak instantaneously, putting his thoughts in words and structure them in a logical sequence so that audience will understand them

The Training

This segment will cover listening skills, speaking skills and how to overcome fear of speaking in front of an audience.  There will be a lot of exercises and active participation.

Segment 4: Stress Management

Oh, Stress! This word reverberates in your head. When you experience them, you feel bad – distressed. Well, not all stress situations are bad, and some are good for us because we need a little stress to spur us on to achieve greater things. We are all different and our body conditions are different. Some are more stressful than others. The good thing about stress is that stress can be contained and controlled. Let this workshop minimize your stress and you can get on with your healthy life.

Take Charge of Stress and Move On

  1. What stresses you? Understand good stress and bad stress.

  2. First Aids for Stress: Passive and active exercise to fight stress and applying visualization journey method. Stress and your relationships. 

  3. Stress and your goals in life.

  4. Visualisation Journey – a script to take away your stress.

The Training

This segment will focus on managing stress, how to identify and cope with stressful situations in work and in life. There will be discussions, games, exercises and group participations.

Ernest Chen has over 20 years of training experience. A consummate speaker with immense experience, he has conducted courses and seminars in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. More than 300 corporations and institutions have benefited from his training.

Ernest was the adjunct lecturer at the Export Institute of Singapore and has also conducted courses and seminars in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. More than 300 corporations and institutions have benefited from his training.

He is known as the father of toastmasters clubs in Singapore. He chartered the first community centre toastmasters club in 1988 and in 1992 started the world first Mandarin Toastmasters Club. He initiated the new PESA (Plain English Speaking Award) for students in 1997 and organized the World First Speech Marathon with 800 participants speaking for 36 hours continuously in May, 2000.

Ernest is a practitioner of NLP and Certified Teacher of Entrepreneurship (from NFTE, New York). He has a BA (economics) from University of Sydney and MBA from Andrews University.
