Organisations are made up of people working individually and together to achieve its business goals and objectives. The ability of *‘Performance Leaders’ to influence and motivate people to execute what needs to be done will make the difference between whether the organisation will survive and thrive or not.

This programme has been specially customised for staff who are new to managing/leading others or those who have yet to receive formal training in people management skills skills. It will provide participants with a solid foundation of good interpersonal management through the acquisition of the necessary skills to lead and manage others successfully.

*A ‘Performance Leader’ refers to anyone who has people reporting to him/her and has responsibility for their performance.

COURSE METHODOLOGY

This programme is very ‘skills based’ and will be delivered via minimal conceptual briefing but with heavy emphasis on participant involvement and interaction. The workshop leader will facilitate group discussions and feedback through case studies, job-related exercises, role plays and skills practices to ensure the transfer of programme skills.

EXPERT COURSE LEADER

 

BH Tan has extensive experience in human resource management, having worked for more than 23 years in the high tech manufacturing industries with several American multi-national companies in Malaysia and Singapore.

 

Organisations he has worked for include Hewlett-Packard Malaysia, Hewlett-Packard Singapore,  Fairchild Singapore, Tandon Singapore, Unisys International Singapore and Compaq Asia.

 

He has extensive experience in designing and implementing HR systems in Compensations & Benefits, Performance Management, Succession Planning, Human Resource Development, Recruitment, Safety and Security.

 

Since 1996, he was a Senior Consultant with the Skills Development Centre (SDC), a Singapore based training and consultancy organisation, which has business activities in the ASEAN region as well as Hong Kong, China and India. He has facilitated workshops both locally and overseas, covering a wide spectrum of industries such as manufacturing, health care, insurance, property management, public transport, airlines, telecommunication, media, various statutory boards, supermarket and catering. He has trained managerial, supervisory and executive staff in areas like People Management Skills, Performance Management, Customer Service, Teambuilding, Rapport Building & Influencing Skills, Communication Skills and Developing Effective Work Mindset.    

 

In addition, he has also conducted people management skills training for students undergoing the Strathclyde University MBA programme in countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and India.

 

Beng Hoe graduated from the University of Malaya in 1973 with a Bachelors Degree in Economics (Hons.) and also obtained a Diploma in Personnel Management from the Singapore Institute of Personnel Management. In addition, he has also completed the Human Resource Executive Development Programme from Cornell University in 1994.
